I am planning on heading out again this weekend in hope of icing some more fish. Will this warm weather affect the ice much or is the snow enough insulation not to bother it? I am looking for some info on the thickness of ice on:
[ol][li]Twin Lakes[/li][li]Mackay[/li][li]Gem Lake[/li][li]Sportsman Park AF Reservoir[/li][li]AF Reservoir by the dam[/li][/ol]Sure would be nice if there was a place people could input info like this and others to be able to look it up easily.

I fished the Snake River Ice today and any place with current is being effected by the warm temps. Ponds and lakes are much more stable but beware places with current.

What part of the Snake were you fishing. I might be able to sneak out for a couple hours of fishing this weekend, but it will have to be somewhere close to town. I've been thinking of trying Gem lake again. I've been skunked both times I've tried it in the past.

Thanks for the info. So far I see
[ol][li]Twin Lakes[/li][li]Mackay[/li][li]Gem Lake[/li][li]Sportsman Park AF Reservoir [#ff0000]10"-12"[/#ff0000][/li][li]AF Reservoir by the dam[/li][/ol][#000000]Last thing I heard on Twin was around 5".[/#000000]
Mackay I heard was 2"-3" a week ago.
Need a little more up to date info on theses since they are quite a drive and it is quite warm today. Temp never got below 31 last night and it is suppose to be 39 today.

We walked into the Gem Pond yesterday. We were walking in water to get there. The fishing was slow and we left after an hour. With this thaw I don't know if you will get there after today. After fishing in water in most places yesterday I'll be waiting for the next hard freeze to fish the rivers back bays again. Maybe I.P. this weekend.

I checked the ice at willow bay near the dam on AF saturday and there was a good 6-7 inches. I only went out about 50 yards though. There were people fishing sunday as well.
