ok i know this may be a stupid question to alot of you out there. I am trying to identify the difference between a koke and a rainbow in devils creek. i have a caught alot of fish there this year and i have a hard time believing i havent caught any kokes but i dont know how to identify them. Any input would be greatly appreciated. please help me.

The most obvious difference between the two is in the tail. Kokanee have a forked tail whereas Rainbows have a non-forked tail. Kokanee also tend to be more silvery this time of year but Devils creek does have some pretty silvery Rainbows. I don't think the Kokes in Devils creek are all that abundant. I've caught 1 or 2 in about 10 trips ice fishing there. Hope this helps! Tight lines
