After visiting Carters Lake with TritonLB Wednesday, I caught "Float & Fly Fever." I needed another dose so I headed back down today. A leisurely trip... didn't get on the water until 8:30 or 9 and quit at 3:30.

Caught a spot on the first cast of the morning ... should have known I was in trouble. emoDoh

Ended up with eight spots... three were nice ones... two 2.5 lbs. each and one that went 3.1. He was 19 inches long with an 11.5 girth. A real fattie.

There is nothing like healthy spots on an 8.5 ft. St. Croix with 4 lb. test line. When you're fishing with sewing thread tied to a long willow switch, they fight long and hard. There is lots of time to enjoy the ride.

I caught five fish on one 50 yard stretch of bank between 1:30 and 2:30. Just needed a couple more banks like the one good one and it would have been a great day. But before that, I spent the majority of my time exploring up lake. Obviously I explored the wrong places.

Caught most fish on a 1/16th oz. mylar jigs, white mylar but with a greenish hue. Want to learn more about Carters Lake... call TritonLB. He'll hook you up (pun intended).

Life is good and gettin' better every day.
