Hal, Chick, Crappie, 01-01-10, Alone

Just had to start the new year off right with a crappie trip to the Chick, emoTongue It was a bit cool, not bad but windy, emoAngry Sure be glad when the wind and current slows down some. Got a late start at about 10:00 but I almost had it all to myself, only saw 2 other fishing boats on the water all day. Did see a couple duck hunter boats come in just after I got started in Soddy Creek, emoRolleyes I couldn't start the new year off like JMax but I enjoyed the day out. Had to quit about 1 PM with only one 12 inch crappie caught for the day. Just couldn't find the fish today. I fished north of Soddy Creek where the water temp was 43* almost everywhere.
