hebgen lake
#1

A few of us are headed to Hebgen Lake this weekend to poke a few holes in the ice. Anyone fished there this winter? Any tips on what works best and where to start would be appreciated. [Image: bobwink.gif] Thanks

a friend of mine has fished it almost every weekend, been a little slow but they have caught a few, they have been fishing the narrows mostly, using green paddle bugs. and a few different ice flies tipped with mealies.

I talked to a group who have been up there quite a few times this winter and they said they were having some luck with dark red ice flies [ from Bob's in Rigby ] tipped with a meal worm, hooked through the belly and dangling down on either side of the hook, then pinch the head off to get some juice in the water. Also with a red or white jig head and green paddle bug. Good luck!
