Fished a few small rocky points with deep water near by fished 2 hrs right before dusk..up near sale creek raining but fun, float and fly , first time using this method .. will be back for more .. caught 6 smallies and 10 spots nothing huge biggest smallie was 2.5 lbs.. biggest spot 1.5 I did hook a striper that I got to the boat but it saw boat and took off never to be seen again .. prob was 10lbs or so.. I was using 4lb line and a 10ft float fly rod.

Started out using a 10ft drop, then tied on a slip bobber and a bobber stop, moved the stop to 20ft and then found the fish.. wanted to stay longer but figured I best head in

Shad where dying around me .. I flicked the rod a tad every once in a while to simulate the flutter of dying shad.. using some white and chartreuse marabou and silver flash tinsel 1/32 oz home made jigs about the size of the shad that where dying.

And I managed to stay in the boat the whole time, and didn't fall out at the dock either, thank god .. Id hate to fall in in 38-40 degree water

After the posts Ive seen lately .. I felt lucky to get a hit much less this kind of action.. the fish just barely slurped in the jig.. pencil bobber just barely twitched, if I hadn't paid close attention would have never known they where there .. slow and steady was the name of the game
