The best baits to use are worms, and dragon flies. I also nail larger bass on white spinner baits, the smaller the better. I have caught the usual bass and bluegill, but also some mud cats and channel cats. There arn't alot of them, but when you see them, they dwarf Utah Lake fish. Hope this helps!

Icefool,
I like 1/16 ounce jigs with a one inch purple power craw. You can also tip the jig with meal worms or nightcrwlers. Go out in the middle and drift with your jigs out until you hit gills, then drop a marker and stay on your fish. You can also use Roadrunner jigs with great success. A fly rod can also be a hoot. Big bass like the early morning and right before dark. I have caught them at night on surface poppers. Floating frogs are also hot. Many traditional bass baits will work. Another favorite is 5" Kalins jigs in blue pearl and crayfish rigged weedless. If you want to catch black bullhead, drop a whole night crawler or cutbait to the bottom while you're jig fishing (it's a two pole lake). I wouldn't count on the channel cats, they are too few and far between. Bring bugspray and shade and lots of cold drinks. Also, be careful launching. The lake is low and there are prop eating rocks near the ramp. I hope that answers your question. If you have any more questions, pm me or respond to this post. Good luck. Thanks for the info. I really appreciate it. we are taking a small boat that has only a trolling motor so we figured launching wouldn't be much of a problem. As usual I could count on you guys to help me out.
