I prefished on 2/19 in a variety of locations ranging from as far downriver as Allred/Siebold. The grass in Allred is the 2nd freshest I have seen on the lake this year. I concentrated on shallow humps and points that were closest to river and creek channels. I caught on fish here water temp was from 39-42 degrees. Next I loaded boat and headed to South Sauty. I tend to have a bit of success here this time of year, but they have not shown up in there yet. Grass there is dead except for right along the bottom. I did manage to catch one more off of a shallow point that was about 4lbs.. Then I ran to another hump in Goosepond and found some more decent fish just before dark. I went back to the ramp I had launched from on CO. Rd 67 just across fromwater treatment plant, and a couple of guys had got their winches stolen from the trailer. emoPolice Got to meet fellow CFFer Badluckbailey and talk about some Gville bass yesterday.

2/20/10- Went to South Sauty first, hoping to repeat the nice fish I caught yesterday, but they were not there or I was too impatient. Next we moved to Goosepond and tried to catch a limit, but could not score. Then we moved to Mink creek and managed our first keeper, and we caught a few dinks there too. I also caught the biggest shad I have ever seen. We stayed here for awhile, hoping to catch a few more, but thye did not cooperate. Next we moved to an area that had warmer water and managed to catch our biggest of the two keepers for the day. With about 1 hour left we moved back to South Sauty to try to find on of the bigger fish that I caught yetserday, but it didn't happen. We caught our fish on a variety of baits XR50s (Lemon Lime, Rayburn Red, Royal Shad), and Jackall Squadminnow (purple/chartreuse). Water temps ranged from 43-53 degrees in the areas that we fished. If I had to do it again I would have tried to be more patient, but it is hard because of all the water I have covered lately. If the weather stays anywhere close to what it has been this week that place is goig to turn on like a light switch very soon. Congratulations to the winners! :emoticon:logo
