Eyeman2, Tellico Lake/ Chilhowee Lake, Walleye, Dec2009/Jan/Feb/March -2010, Walker
#1
Now that the spawn run is just about finished for this season, I can file my report.
You see guys, fishing & hunting are a lot alike.I just can't bring myself to tell anyone( almost,I did tell one great fisherman) about the big eyes being caught the last 3 months, or where I saw that 12 pointer chasing does, not until I get my chance at 'em. After I've had my shot, then I can tell.
Well here goes; one over 16 lbs, not me, several dozen over 10 pounds, I got lucky once, and limits were plentiful, especially for the guys out of Hawkins County. I saw several given away and we recieved 1 fish over 25 inches from a guy who had his slot limit, and Walker got blessed twice.
Several 19-22 inch sauger were caught, and a whole lot of small mouth.
My freezer is full and I DO have a pool side cook out every year.
Now it's time to go star gazing and load up on some more "lake steaks".
Now don't get me wrong, I do crappie fish, but one "eye" can equal a limit of specks, as far as fillets go.
I like to feel that, peck, peck from crappie, but that THUMP is what counts, when he bites and when your rod pops the side of the boat.
My best so far over the 26 years of "eyen', is 36 inches, and I'm sure there is a 40+ out there just waiting to Thump me.
Thanks for reading, and have it your way. emoCool
