drumking, Riverpark, bass and drum, 3/23/10, Dr Phillip Gawthrop
#1
Dr Phillip had 3 hours that he could fish this morning and left it up to me to decide where we wanted to fish. I made a good call. Total fish: 22 white bass, 1 smallmouth bass, 3 largemouth bass, 7 spotted bass and 1 TARP drum. I have a cooler full of whites and spots to clean. 1/8 oz jigheads with plastic minnow bodies. The smallie that Phillip caught was around 3 lbs. We had 3 spots that we threw back, but the others were very nice spots. The drum was 28" long and qualified for my fifth different TARP species and that will get me a master angler II patch from TWRA.

The largest white bass was 17" long. The best LM was 15.5 inches long. We didn't catch a yellow bass or we would have had a grand slam on bass for the day. Water flow was 25,500 cfs and water temp was 50.5 degrees. Wind wasn't a problem until just before we quit fishing and it started blowing pretty good. I thought about going crappie fishing this afternoon, but I have changed my mind. emoBigSmile emoUpSmile

Good day, Dr Phil. Glad that we had a great fishing day.
