I was able to sneak away from work today early enough to get my boat out and get some break in time on my recently rebuilt 175. I took a break from cruising and decided to toss a few lures. Caught a few slicks on a bleeding shad rattle trap then the big boy hit. The trap stopped dead in the water and started going straight down. I thought now that is what I am looking for. After a second or two I realized it was not a bass. It turned out to be a 10 pound catfish. I wish I had my camera with me, he was a nice one. He sucked that rattle trap all the way in his mouth. Took a good bit of work to get him loose from all those treble hooks. It was a beautiful afternoon and the boat was running great. Keeps getting stronger every time I run it.
