Took my son fishing this morning below the dam, thought about crappie, but with the wind, decided to for for white bass instead. Did not get the start that we wanted, arrived at the water a little before 8:00 am. First 7 casts = 6 beautiful white bass. Ended up catching 14, all nice size, the largest went 16" and weighed 2.9 lbs. All were released. Caught on jerk bait and flukes with 1/4 oz head. Current was flowing good down there, water temp was 52. After we tired of the whites, drifted down to the ramp and caught 3 great LM bass. 2 of them were a little over 3 lbs, and the best was a 6.1 lb beast that is my best riverpark largemouth ever. The bass came on a watermelon tube. Back at work by 11:00. Headed down to Venice LA on Sunday to take the boys redfishing/seatrout for their spring break.
