Got to go fishing with my good friend Antman this morning. It was the first trip for us this year fishing together. It was a slow day as we did not find fish in any concentrations today at all. emoScratch We only managed fifteen bass with nine keepers. Started at 7:30 and came in at 3:00. We tried every depth you could think of that is on the Chick. Started flipping docks and missed one that was the only bite there. Headed for the main river and deep water on steep banks. Found a few doing that program with slow rolled blades and chatter baits. Moved again and headed for very shallow water with a creek going down the middle of it. Did not boat any there. Moved again to some steep banks and again boated a couple nice ones, also broke one off on a shakey head. Moved to some docks with deeper water and managed one good LM there on a blade. Headed back out to the river with some current and hit deep bluffs and drops. That was the afternoon ticket, we managed several doing this pattern with blades, cranks and shakey heads. emoThumbsup Antman also got a nice one on a pig and jig. Did hit one more shallow spawning flat but could only manage a couple small buck LM there. emoConfused I still do not think the big females are shallow yet. Never got a kicker but managed a nice decent limit over the seven and a half hours that would have been 13 to 14 lbs with our best five. Needed that kicker to get our weight on up there. Best ones were around the 3 lb mark. emoRolleyes

Water temp was 51 to 54 where we were. Most fish caught around 10 feet that would keep. Had fish from 2 foot to 30 feet. Boated bass on blades, cranks, shakey heads, pig/jig and chatter baits. Not a bad day but was slow at times. We just beat it out with one here and there. emoAngler Jmax
