Long day, :o Worked around the house this morning, trying to get caught up on the leaf burning. Sequatchie County has had some fire bugs out starting forest fires the last few days and the authorities can't seem to catch them so the burn permits are hard to come by. If there is any wind they won't issue a permit so got lucky this morning and got a chance to sort'a get caught up on the leaves.
Got in the water at CFP around 1 PM and went looking for some crappie. There were 21 boat trailers in the CF parking lot when I put in, emoDance When I saw that I knew it was going to be hard to find fish and it was. Just could not get on any numbers today, ended up with only 14 crappie, 2 spaaats, and 5 gills with a nice 'cracker to finish it out. No big fish either today, best was a 12 incher and had several that were between 9 and 10. It was fun and a little warm. Sure nice to fish without a coat, emoBig
Didn't find any one certain bait that was a big hit, just an assortment of colors that didn't seem to matter. Most of the count was a 6 and water temp is up to 65* in most places so the spawn can't be far off, emoThumbsup
The catch seemed to be about split between males and females. All fish were returned to the water to make more little fishes, emoFish
Sorry no pictures, I forgot the camera.......They were just ordinary crappy anyway,
