Bigger Cat, Chic, Crappie, bass & Cats, 4-30, Shaun & Jerry
#1
Anyone that knows me know that I like to go after those bigger cats. Today was no exception (to start with that is).

I fine day for a short day of work set the biggest part of the day up for me & my two buddies Shaun & Jerry. They wanted to do a little bass fishing so I was good with that. Shaun hooked and landed a 4.5 within minutes of the first casts. I think he wound up catching its twin about 15 minutes later. Started to rub it in a little. I finally caught a couple. Didn't measure one, just stated it was keeper & threw it back pretty quick before one of the boys came at me with a measuring stick. The other one was probably 3 lbs. No skunk for any of us. I rekon we can count a slick or two as not getting skunked for Jerry. We threw spinner baits & worms for the most part. I think an occaional rattle trap.

Headed to the channel when it started warming up for some cat action. Or I should say, lack of. And I'm offering them cats a wide variety from marinated in everything boob, to shrimp to that gold stuff called skipjack. Just not much action. Just a couple small ones.

Time to head to the crappie holes. Probably caught 30 between the three of us with only about 5 of them keepers. That was of crappie. I caught three 3+ lb channel cats using a bobber and jig (pink head white tail) about 18" - 24" deep. Jerry caught a 6 pounder (channel cat) on a minnow. Thank goodness Shaun got skunked in round 3. He was becoming annoying. We fished between the hwy 60 bridge and Blue Water camp ground up here in Dayton.

We about burnt up out there. Still debating on what to do real early in the morning. Depends on the rain I guess.

Man needs to fish every chance they get. If it isn't raining & windy in the morning, probably going to wet a hook somewhere. I figure that would be considered a chance for me.
