Man what an awesome day on the water it was today. The weather was great for the big fish to bite and we didn't get rained on much at all today. We started off fishing soft plastics on some deeper points around 10-12 feet and caught several good keeper fish but nothing huge. We moved around some and started throwing around some deep brush in 14-18 feet of water and the big one hit. After a short battle I got it in the boat and was shaking. I figured it would be a good fish but I didn't think it was quite as big as it was. After weighing the fish on two scales the weight was 8lbs 14oz. She was busting full of eggs and was ready to spawn out. Here are some pics of the fish after we ran back down river to get my camera. I make it look small but I am 6'2 250lbs lol I should have found a little kid to hold it for me so it would have looked better haha Oh and the measurements were around 25in long and 16in girth and yes she was released to be caught again where she was caught! Our five fish limit would have been around 22lbs or so with that kicker.

Here are some pics of the fish after we made the long run back down river to get my camera. lol I never catch any good fish when I have it with me. haha
