<br /> Jmax and I decided to fish the Nick CFF today (even though I tried to get out of it due to weather, but glad I went as it did not rain a drop). We started off fishing a large flat about 4-5 feet deep. Did not take long to start catching fish. I boated our first keeper on a 10" Junebug powerworm, a skinny 16 incher that weighted 1.8 lbs (a weight that will come up again soon). Not long after that I get our second keeper, a 3.5 lber again on the 10" worm. Jmax sticks a really nice fish in the 3.5 lb range on a trap that gets off half way to the boat.emoBang Turns out this fish might have given us enough weight to win, would have gotten 2nd or 3rd for sure.<br /> Now it was about this time the pressure started to get to Jmax. Was he going to have 3 CFF tourny's in a row without weighing in a fish? He put on one of the most amazing displays of catching 14.5" bass I have ever seen. Must have boated 15 of them that size. Got pretty funny. Then it happened, he finally got a 15.1" fish in the boat. The day was saved. But....not long after I catch another keeper on the 10" worm that beat his 15.1" fish by 0.1 lbs. What did it weigh? 1.8 lbs. <br /> Now Jmax was really tore up. A few more 14.5" fish and he was ready to move. We made a move to a very, very shallow flat with timber on it around 12:30. First cast with a spook Jmax sticks our big fish for the day, a really nice 4.7 bler. I won't be culling that fish I told him. We continued to catch fish on spooks until the wind got really wild and killed the bite. We got 3 more keepers in there, all of them weighting 1.8 lbs.emoBang Just could not get away from that number for some reason. <br /> We ended up getting 6th place with 10 lbs. Took almost 12 to win. I think our 4.7 lber was 5th or 6th big fish. We boated 35 LM today and Jmax got a small yellow pearch on a trap.emoScratch We stuck and lost another 5-6, with one being the money fish. Thanks for the ride today Jmax, it was fun.<br /> No Nacho explosions today either which was good.emoPoke
