Shane and I fished this afternoon from 2-8:45PM.
Started the day out really slow, only putting 0 fish in the boat for the first hour!
During that time we were trying some points and bluffs out on the main lake with t-rigged finesse and jigs. Nothing except for a couple little hits.
I tied a fish head spin on, first time I tried one and it worked like a charm. Did miss quite a few fish at first until I realized I need to give the fish some time before I set the hook.
They would take the fish head spin just about anywhere on the main lake. The fish coming off the fish head were a good ways off the bank. Caught all fish in 10-30FTOW over anywhere between 20 and 100FTOW. Talk about suspended LOL
After about 4 hours of fishing open water with the head spins, we got back on a point or two. After the 5th cast in I set the hook on a little 12" spot that was having a hissy fit. I was wondering why the fish kept running so hard for its size... turns out that there was a HUGE 5+lb spot chasing it. emoBang emoBang emoBang I got so mad at the little 12" spot for getting my worm before the big one could get a hold of it. emoEnforce
We boated around 21 or 22 fish tonight including a nice 12" white crappie. Not the best day in numbers, but I sure did have fun catching fish on something new. Im pretty impressed with the fish head spins. emoThumbsup
