I was blessed to start the day out with my 3 year old grandson Brayden. I had him with me till about 11:30. I am buttering him up for the future. I rekon he will be about the only person that will go fishing with me at the drop of a hat. I have confidence!

After Brayden left, I hit the road wide open heading to the nuke. Saw EricM's post & must have just missed him. He was right on the money as usual. A lot of fish at the nuke today. I broke off twice. I have been fishing with braided 50 lb & lost two very good cats today. This has happened to me a few times now. They are breaking off at the hook. After the second one broke me off, I switched primary reels & fished with 20 lb stren. I am stripping that crap off before I go back. Didn't break off again but didn't have the fish on there I had earlier. I did wind up with 11 fat catfish ranging from 9 to 19 lbs. A really good day and was encouraged to see that many fish showing up!

I even bought me a camera off ebay to take with me. Now let nobody kid you, it came up a monsoon at the nuke this evening. Got a little hairy but I wanted a third chance at Moby Dick Cat. It didn't happen though. I did catch a couple more after the monsoon. The new camera didn't survive the monsoon. Thought I had it dry stored but when it was all over & I started to take another pic, it was sitting on my rain coat & standing in about 3" of water.

Anyway, it was a great day to be out there. Eric, give me a yell the next time you are heading there on a solo mission.

I hope to hit it again this weekend some time.
