Here is the link to the just released Idaho F & G Chinook harvest numbers and hours per fish rates. Wow, I was considering heading to the confluence this spring, but upriver from the railroad bridge in Lewiston shows 621 hours per fish kept, and this is based on a ton of fishermen checked. The numbers are much better upriver, and in the Riggins area. I can't figure out why the lower Clearwater has been so lousy? Mike

Mike, the Salmon and Snake are getting 60-70% of the fish this year. Remember a few years ago when the aclimation ponds got silted out at Kooskia and Peck? That probably has a lot to do with the low numbers. Lots of problems in the hatcheries up there right now as well (Look up the articles in the Lewiston Paper a couple weeks ago or so). Some of it may be river conditions on the outbound leg too. Whatever the case, it sucks that the CLearwater is fishing so poorly. The upside is the Salmon is getting a ton of fish back, and they seem to be larger in general than the Clearwater fish.
