The weather channel said there was going to be more wind that I usually care for, but when I saw that the current was going to come up at mid-morning I decided to give it a try. Glad I did! Really nice day and fish to boot!

The first pic is how a saftey-conscious fisherman scans the area for any Spurhunters before risking life, limb, or hardware.

I couldn't find any bluegill on the intake wall this morning, so I used some skipjack - which are getting pretty thin at the bottom of the bait freezer. At first the fishing was quite slow, but after the flow increased I found an area that held a bunch of nice catfish, 6 to 10 pounds. I saw a few small fish caught early, but most everyone gave up when the wind picked up. The Minn Kota autopilot really helped keep me on my area, but it is still a lot of work with the wind gusting hard. It is great for this fishing though.

I got to talk with Fishing Machine today too. He was after crappie and bass. The old guy looks pretty good!

I did sneak up on one very nice blue cat today - it went 24 pounds. It got a little wild just as the camera took the pic, but that makes for some interesting photos too. Here are today's handsome fellow snapshots:
