utah fisherman coming to idaho info?
#1
I was hoping someone could help me get into some fish. I am going to be staying in the boise area memorial day weekend. I dont know a whole lot about the lakes around that area. If anyone can give me any info on where to go and what to use I would appreciate it. I am not taking my boat so just some shore fishing. Thank you in advance.

I'm not from Boise area so my help is pretty marginal! I am hoping someone else will chime in here.
You might try PM AverySadventure.
Or do a search for Boise on the forum.

I expect that the river through town may be high due to runoff. There are a lot of community pond fisheries such as here: http://fishandgame.idaho.gov/apps/ffw/de...on_ID_FK=4

South Fork of the Boise and small streams open May 29th.

For more current information, you might also try contacting Idaho Anglers - a fly shop in Boise. They should be able to give you some good ideas. http://www.idahoangler.com/boiseriver.htm

All good thoughts cpierce. In addition, Riggins is about 3 hours north, and there are spring chinook being caught in that area. Drift fishing eggs is the go-to up there, but balls of tuna (oil packed) also work. You could contact Rexanne Zimmerman at the Hook, Line, and Sinker in Riggins for more information.

Welcome to the forum. We hope to hear some fishing related info soon.

We have many readers to the South who are good contributers to our forum. While your comment is in jest I am sure. There is no reason to get the Utah vs. Idaho thing going.

Peace

Now you can edit it twice. [Image: beaten.gif]

On another side of the coin I can't complain about Utah coming to Idaho as they always treat me great when I return the visit to fish the Gorge or any other great waters Utah has! Welcome aboard guys!

Each state has people that give it a bad name.

There are just lots of Utards it seems along with the good ones.[cool]

Seems to be some from Wisconsin also. He parked his truck in the middle of the boat ramp last night to unload a personal kayak. Left his truck in the ramp. We were the only two on the lake, so it was easy to find out who he was, but I had to go find him to move his truck. And wait while he paddled over.

Guess each state can have some tards![sly]
