Stolen Boat!!!
#1
A buddy from another fishing forum had his boat stolen fron his house. If you see this unique sled please contact law enforcement authorities. Here is his post from Steelheader.net with a picture...

"Came home from work today to find someone had backed down my driveway in Yakima and stole my 21ft Alumaweld Super Vee Pro. I don't know if they took it to part it out or if they just REALLY needed to do some springer fishing. Anyway if all of you who fish Drano, the Wind and the other areas of the NW could please keep an eye out I would be very appreciative. It is a 2002 White 1/2 paint. What makes this boat a little unique is that the big motor is a Mercury 250HP two stroke blue stripe (saltwater). I've not seen many, if any boats the year and color of mine with a 250HP on them. It is also equipped with a 9.9HP kicker. It also only has two of the four seats mounted in it. Thanks for your help."

Man, that sucks. I've heard of thieves taking kicker motors, but never just driving off with the whole boat.

I hope he had insurance.

Thieves Suck! That motor is a rarity in these parts. Wouldn't be hard to spot if it shows up on any of our lakes. Hope they find the . . . well you know and hang em high! [Image: angry.gif]

I'm headed out tomorrow to spend $2500 to replace the 70 HP Merc. that was stolen off my boat last fall. As bad as that hurts, I can only guess how having that whole classy rig disapper makes you feel. Thieves are scum.

I will keep an eye out. My friend had his stolen last year. It was a 23' Cabin cruiser sitting at his place of business. He came in one day and noticed it was gone. He has never seen it since. I hate thieves.

Doesn't matter if it's cheap or not. If there's value there, it's fair game to some. My motor was a 1971, sitting on an old fiberglass boat, which would be my defenition of an old beater. It didn't seem to matter. "I need my fix, and your stuff is the shortcut to it, so you're fair game."

BigLew, damn shame some loser took your motor. I sure hope you see it sitting on a boat some time and hammer the guy.

This same jerk stole a $7000 equipment hauling trailer from the neighbor on the other side of him. It was gone for almost a year, and his son spotted it on the back of a pickup, and followed it and called the cops on the cell phone. He tried to ditch him pulling the trailer, but it didn't work out. He'd bought it from the jerk who stole my motor.
So I guess it could happen. I'm paying a lot more attention to what's on the back of boats that I see. Let's all see if we can help him get his boat back.

The boat has been recovered. The main motor was listed on a Craig's List in Oregon, and the guy selling it was arrested. The hull and trailer were found stashed in an apple orchard near Yakima. It was not badly damaged, and he will be fishing out of it again soon. He just needs to get the motor back from the Police.

Thanks for posting this. I hope they hang the guy but in reality they will probably make the owner of the boat pay rent to the thief for parking the boat. It is funny how the system works, and doesn't. Good news for now. Ron
