Not too many docks here on Tellico where I live so I hooked up the boat and headed on further down the lake to an area where they are several.
This was just a trip to ( as DK say's ) TEST THE PULSE of some unfamiliar docks. So I got the boat in the water after 5pm and headed over to my first dock for the test. No pulse. not even one beat. Sad
Moving right along as to not waste time and hit as many docks as possible I stopped at dock 2. Right next to dock one.
I tested the waters and found a pulse. emoSmile
I ended up never left this spot until I headed home.
Boated 23 crappie here and missed/lost many more on this one dock.
Left this dock with the fish still biting Ouch!
Fish were holding on the deepest darkest spot under this dock. The catch was that the middle of this dock had a main beam joist just 5 or 6 inches from the top of the water in the center of the dock. Had to get the lure under and behind this beam to get to the fish. Tough!
Went with the Cricket this time on a 32nd. Fish came anywhere from a 6 to a 10 count with the majority coming on an 8 count. Did get one fish on a 20. Used a crank- twitch- pause retrieve. Some just hit on the initial count down.
The biggest fish today was a 12 1/2 white but strangely enough a good portion of my catch was blacks. Unusual for me on Tellico. Hooked one good fighting bass that got off. Had to be a small mouth cause he fought like a tornado.

Until next time,
Gene
