Best chance of catching fish if it's your first time.

The Clearwater is slow. Bottom line is, the fish coming over Granite are mostly headed for the Salmon River this year. You can view the PIT Tag returns through the Columbia River DART site.
If i was going to go with a guide on the Clearwater, it would be Jim Carter or Toby Wyatt (reeltimefish.com), or Jim McCarthy at Hell's Canyon Sportfishing.

Fishing has been pretty slow. i just got back and for three days fishing we only hooked 4 fish. everybody else seemed to be doing the about the same. do you have a boat or were you thinking of fishing from shore?

Just from shore. I am probably just going to go out fly fishing somewhere up here. Probably not worth the drive. Thanks for the info.

The fish are piled up between Kooskia and Lowell on the Clearwater! The wife and I banked 7 this weekend, 2 at Lowell were both wild! Came home yesterday with a cooler full of Fillets!
Scott with the Guide shop is the right Guide!
