Went up and floated the river today in my pontoon boat. The fish were jumping like crazy but couldn't get anything to take it. Switched to using sinking line and streamers and started to catch the fish. Between my brother and me we caught 18 fish. Only two of them were planters. The biggest that we caught was about 17". Had a great time until my rod broke. Glad it was a Redington so I sent it off today to get it replaced.

What are the things I would need to know about floating this section and fishing it too? Time of day with increased/decreased flows, put in and take out points, and how to shuttle myself from point to point?

What is the minimum flow to float with a pontoon? I haven't fished this section in 50 years, but it continues to fascinate me.
I used to catch a few carp (not that I wanted to), whitefish on bottle fly larva harvested from semi-fresh cow pies (I guess the whitefish thought it looked like caddis fly pupa), and occasionally a trout (on a chamois caddis).
Time to return to my home town and home town waters. Look out Napoleon, I'm on my way!!

The river was at 340 when I floated it and it was still fine. If it were down around 200 I would probably just wade the river and not bother with floating it. That is just what I think. If you want better details send me a PM.
