I am clueless on how to catch deepwater bass and not keen on baking out there in the sun so my dad and I drifted below the dam early Saturday morning. It was a weird flow situation with a ton of water coming out of turbine 4 and barely any coming out of the other turbines and I didn't know where the fish were. I caught a pretty good white bass on the first drift and after that I couldn't catch a good drift. We missed a few bites and I broke off what I am pretty sure was a striper. I broght some chicken breast that we cut up and drifted for cats with and I missed one on the first drift after the switched and my dad missed about three...we couldn't figure out when to set the hook cause I didn't have circle hooks and I just really didn't know what to do. Anyway I got one bite and just started reeling in and the fish was on...about 10 minutes later on 10 pound test we get it halfway in the net and in the boat-my new PB 27 lb blue cat! Left about 10:00 before it got crazy hot.
