Decided to fish Nickajack this week. Never have really fished there at night, so figured I'd give it a shot. Got to the ramp about midnight and headed to a road bed. Within the first 30 minutes we had 3 nice keepers in the boat including John's 3 3/4 lber. Stayed there a while working over the road bed. Kept catching, but they got smaller. Next move hit some rip rap. Caught quite a few more there, but again were smaller. Next move headed into running water Creek. Took a while but finally found a good pod of keepers. Caught 5 or 6 on consecutive casts. Nothing bigger than 2lbers there. Packed up and headed up river. Stayed there until daylight. Lots of water covered and lots more fish caught. Right when it was light enough to see I put us on a spot that when the grass is topped out, it is a great frog spot. Proceeded to put a beat down on nice fish. Wasn't hot and heavy, but very consistant. I landed our biggest there 5.60lbs. Left around 7 am. Great night ! Everything was caught on spinnerbaits. Best 5 would have been 17+lbs and combined we caught close to 40 bass.
