I was almost gonna bail on this one when I saw the heat index was 110 at 6pm but went anyway. We lucked out because it clouded up with a little breeze right around blast-off. As for the fishing, NOT SO GOOD! Went the first 2 hrs w/o a bite. Fishing creek channels and drop-offs using worms and shakeys. We move around some docks after dark where I got a few hits on a jig, but no real takers. We finished the night fishing in 11-15 fow near some weed beds and after about 45 min or so, Jim caught his first fish of the night but 1/4in too short. He caught 1 more short and 1 keeper at 16in that prob went about 1 1/2 lbs. The only keeper of the night.

All fish caught on blades. The shad minnows were so thick on the surface you could just about walk on them! I think the fish had so much shad to choose from, it was hard to get them to hit anything that looked like food to them. They probably hit the blades because they just annoyed them.

We headed back to HB at 1:45 realizing it just wasn't ment to be for us tonight. The bats did put on a good show for us too. Im just glad none of them went up my leg!
