drumking, chickamauga, crappie, 8/18/10, alone
#1
I got out by myself today from 9:00 til 11:30 or so to scout some water downriver. First dock that I stopped at produced the biggest crappie of the day for me, a 13.5 inch black crappie that pulled drag really good. That was on the first cast under the dock. Fished 5 more minutes without a bite, then cast to a different part of the dock and caught an 11" crappie. Fished 10 more minutes without another bite. Moved to dock #2. First cast under the dock, a nice 12.5" crappie. Second cast under the dock, another nice 12" crappie. Then 15 minutes of fishing without another bite.

Moved on to docks 3,4,5 without a bite. Then on dock 6, I caught 2 more crappie. Moved to the last dock and caught 3 more crappie. Somewhere in between all this crappie fishing, I did manage to catch a keeper spot that got to ride in the Tyner Lane shuttle and two bluegills. emoBigSmile The fish that I kept today had been on a fast. Nothing and I mean nothing was in the stomachs of these fish. With all the baitfish that is in the lake right now, you would think that the fish would be gorged. emoScratch I may go again in the AM for a short while and then Friday, Labman and I are going to fish for some trashy green fish. emoBigSmile emoGeezer
