#1
I was fishing this sunday at ann morrison dam and i caught this little rainbow trout, about 6 inches, and it had a green tag close to its dorsal fin. It said IFG and a number. What does those tags mean ? Please tell me i didnt miss a chance of getting some free money....

If you wrote down or memorized the number on the tag you can still call them and get a reward if they are offering one on them. Apparently not all tags are worth something, but taking the time to give it a shot is worth it.

i have one from bear lake. Just pulled it out and let the fish go. I need to call the number in, as it helps with their studies.

Scott Tolentino suggested if you catch a tagged fish from Bear Lake, & you plan on letting the fish go, just write the number down (if you can read it, very small print) and report the number. He/they will send you all the information on the fish & the tag will will continue to provide history on the fish. We caught several last year that had tags. It's fun to learn where & when the fish was tagged & how old and how big it was.

Didn't think of that at the time. I did after the fact, and that is what I will do next time. It would be cool to hear the history of the fish.
