Charlie and I hit the lake at Blyth Ferry about 7:00am and fished until 10:30am. We had 17 keeper crappie caught in 5' to 32' fow. We were fishing blowdowns and the only way we could catch them was to soak a minnow and drag it right up in the blow down on the down current side. I tried to fish a BG plastic but just couldn't get it close to were the fish were. They were right down in the brush and you had to rig a dropshot rig with a heavy sinker to get it to the fish because of the heavy current. You couldn't use a float either, they wanted it to float up and down right in front of their nose. Most of them were caught at 5-6', but we did catch a few deeper about 20'. DK I know you would never use a minnow, but I gave it a real try and just couldn't reach them with plastics. All fish were released to catch another day. emoAngel
