I was fishing along the Mirror Lake highway yesterday and I too caught nothing but tigers - a fish I have never caught in the Uintas before. Feisty little guys, that's for sure.

The Uinta's was the first place I ever caught a Tiger in Utah. They are is several lakes up there.
What fly Koch?
Last year I tried a Gun slinger....as you say, 50 fish day, but first four cast...One - Tiger / two - rainbow / three - Brookie and four...Grayling.
Got to love those lakes. Only thing missing from the four and five in a row was an Albino and possible Golden.

I'm glad I wasn't the only one who was quite surprised to see a tiger on the end of their fly rod. I only caught two fish that werrant tigers up there this past weekend. Have they recently been planted in there? On a side note, thx for all of your posts...I go to many of the same places as you do. You just go more often :-) I'll have to join you on another one of your invites.

Fished Chicken Creek East yesterday morning. Slow in the morning, but really picked up around noon. A brown mohair leech and a chironomids were the best for me. Landed 9 (one slot buster)and lost quite a few others. The interesting part of the day was...around noon, there was a "wiper-like" boil with the cutties rising all around me in the shallows (10-12 feet). It looked like a callibaetis hatch. I tried throwing several dries at them but no luck on top. I threw chironomids at them and that was the ticket. Have you seen that in the middle of the day there before? This lasted at least an hour with some of the fish actually splashing water on me. Pretty fun day.
Stopped by the middle provo on the way home. The afternoon hatches there have been great lately (OMD's, mayflies, some caddis').
