Anyone know of any decent boat mechanics in town? I think I have heard that bob bradley is the man to work on boats, but i have also heard that he charges out the impeller. All I need is simple service. I want to replace my impeller and change the gear oil while I am at it. I would be willing to take some one out fishing in exchange for them showing me how to perform the maintenance. I'd rather do it myself but have great luck at simple maintenance jobs turning into more complicated jobs than they should be.

What type of boat/outdrive are you working on? I just changed the impeller on my Bravo 3 outdrive and I have changed a couple on a OMC 800 series outdrive. Both were pretty simple but completely different. The OMC outdrive had to be removed from the boat and disassembled where the Bravo 3 was a belt driven pump in the engine compartment.

Hey Rider, I recently found a guy in BC at Danny's Ultimate Marine. He seems to know his stuff. I took my boat in for basic service and he suprisingly told me how easy it was to do it myself. I was kinda shocked, the mechanics I have used before acted like they had some really special knowledge or something. I still payed him to do the service but I was impressed on how he wasn't afraid to lose business on basic services. I even had a hub go out on me on a weekend and he had me drop off the boat on a sunday and he came in and put boat inside for me.
