Shad Size
#1
I went out this morning and motored over to las vegas wash to try and net some shad. I motored across the inlet and saw several schools of shad but all were pretty small still. They just went right through my net. What is the norm for shad size this time ofyear. Do shad breed all year or is there just huge spawns then they grow out slowly and die.

Also, any other good spots you guys know of to throw the net. I wasted two hours of fish time and came up empty. [crazy]

Yeah thats usally how it goes hours of work for a dozen or so shad unless u get lucky. I know there are bigger ones within the school of sm ones just keep tossing and tossing. Ive seen success in the vegas wash area/west 33 hole area from shore and boat. The ones I saw were between 2-4 inchs looked big enough to not slip through. Not really sure about when they spawn. The vegas wash is pretty hot for shad right now but there could always be better but not a bad place to start. I see guys try for hours and hours just a time game if ya ask me until then[fishin]
