I called Pat and asked him if he wanted to fish with me for about 1/2 day and he said yes. So, I had him show up at my house around 9:30 and we launched into the deep. emoBig
We stopped on a submerged roadbed and caught 2 crappies, 1 yellow bass, and 1 small white bass. I had an agenda today, so we didn't stay in any one spot very long. I wanted to get a pulse on the crappie and we found a pulse on some.

We had a couple of stops that didn't produce anything, but it didn't take long to find some active fish. Along the way we met a dock owner and TightT (I think is his screen name) and had a good conversation and shared a couple of bg shads with Jim. Jesse, the dock owner, is a super nice guy and we really had a good talk.

Then I took Pat into virgin water for him and we got onto some really good fish. We ended up with 42 crappie and and 3 other fish. We quit fishing at 1:30 as I had an appointment this afternoon. This was a day when you wanted to keep fishing. It was fun exploring and fishing new spots.

We fished 1/24, 1/32 oz jigheads with bg shad mostly. The early fish were very deep, but when we hit the active fish, they had moved up in the water column and were at a 6 to 9 count. Wind was calm and the air temp was perfect. I forgot to take a water temp. emoBang Senior moment I suppose.

We also met another dock owner and his wife who were having a leisure lunch on their dock. We idled over and asked them if it was ok if we fished under their dock for crappie. They were gracious and they watched us pulled several nice crappie from under the dock. We asked them if they wanted us to keep some for them, but he said that he didn't want to clean them. We released all fish today. Just a great day of gentlemen fishing as Pat put it.

I need to run an errand, so this report is done. Enjoy the pics if you can get past the ugly. emoBig
