Not the day I had imagined. Fishing was tough and there was no real pattern for us. We caught fish from 13 fow up to inches of water emoScratch. We basicly picked an area and fished it as well as we could and fished it SLOW. We didn't get many bights and fortunately the fish we caught were mostly keepers. We fished main lake grass and shallow flats with scattered grass on them. There was lots of bait around these areas but nothing really chasing or feeding much. It took us most of the afternoon to fill our limit and culled two or three times. I caught a good one for our first fish and we caught one more keeper and a few shorts on a weedline that morning. After that it was just poking around and finding a fish here and a fish there. Very strange day. I really thought we could get on some feeding fish this time of year but they just weren't very active. Later in the afternoon I caught our best fish I think about 4 lbs and culled again but only about a .5 lb upgrade and that was it. We had one more fish I would have liked to cull but ran out of time. The turnout for the classic was very small I thought. I figured with 13 something we would be out of the money but I guess everyone had a tough time. Jmax and Wiskers had two nice fish and edged us out for first emoDoh. I thought for a while we may have a shot but we got second which was pretty nice. emoThumbsup Congrats you two for the tx, big fish, and Tow Boat money. They got a pretty good payout! Had fun and ready for next year. Can't wait till these crazy fish figure out its time for fall feeding!
