I got off earlier from a class that I'm taking and called a few guys to see if they could go for an hour or two. bbdown, my neighbor, finally said yes after saying that he couldn't about three times. We went looking for bass as I was out last night at dusk and knew where some fish should be. We fished lipless crankbaits first and caught 3 or 4 in one slough. The action slowed down and I wanted to check out a flat that was similar a few miles away. The fish were there but not real active. I did catch one there over about 4 feet of water in some stumps on a chug bug after I saw him surface on a shad. I also had a big bass hit me at the boat but pulled off right away. It was much bigger than the ones that we had been catching. We had fished for about an hour and 15 minutes when bbdown had to go back home to go pick up a truck that had been in the shop so I dropped him off and went back to fish for the last few minutes of light. I caught two more small bass, one on topwater, Chug bug, and another on a crankbait. Fun short trip. Thanks for being available on short notice bbdown! Here's a couple of pics.
