Hoping to get out to Daniels Sunday. With the warm temps it would be nice to know what I can expect in the way of ice thickness and quality. I am coming from a ways off and would hate to just have to turn around.
Anyone???

Went to daniels today. Ice is sketchy around the edges. 3 inches in most places. Found a few places with 2 inches of ice. Good clear ice though. 3 groups on the ice most of the day and it was popping pretty good. It was snowing when we left and it was extremely slushy. Temps were about 28 when we got there and warmed up to around 35 or so. Hope this helps.

I fished from sun up to 2:30. I actually caught the 20 incher around 10:00. The 21 around 1:00. They were biting fast and furious in the morning. It slowed down considerably around noon. It was an acceptionable day though. My experience is that a week or two after the first freeze is usually the best time at Daniels as well as just before the ice gives out. [cool]
