4 of us went to Glendale Saturday and didn't have any luck on worms or spinners for about 3 hrs. We then decided to troll with some Rapalas and caught about 12 trout-and kept 5. That lasted about 1 1/2 hrs. and then it was dead again. Nothing big.

Free fishing day Saturday = my daughter wanting to go fishing. We also went to Glendale. From about 5 pm to 8 trollng pulling spoons, went no more than five minutes without a bite. They were scattered throughout the lake, nothing but small planters, but had lots of fun. She can't afford a out of state license so it was great to have a free fishing day. I know planters aren't that good, but it has been a while since we had had a fish dinner.
Foster looks like the place to go. Three or four boats on the lake and the dam was covered with cars. Quite a few people there.

Good job on bringing her out. In my opinion that is what free fishing day is all about --- family.

What was the water temp if you know? And where any pan fish caught or active? Just curious, returning from fires in texas and anxious to get on the water for some fishing when I get home this week.

Yeah, we saw boats on Foster, too. Must have been out there with just the electric trollers.
Were cops parked there all day, too. There was one when we went past around 9 am and two there when we left around 4:30. There were a lot of people at Foster.

Went to Foster (3 miles from Glendale) and the water temp was 62 degrees. We had a frost last night, so it might be a tad bit cooler. Not much on the bass and bluegill that I have heard out of Glendale yet.

The one thing I forgot to mention as I posted via my cell, was that I saw a ton of small fry, probably 1/2" or less in huge schools swimming the shallows. Not sure what they all were, but looked like what ever did spawn had one heck of a year and leaves tons to grow if they make it past the predators.
