bioluminescence,when do they appear

I've been fortunate enough to encounter this strange phenomenon,funny enough it was in the bay last year,it was really cool,the trolling motor made a long stream of a strange green light under water,later as we got into the canal there numbers decreased,I guess cause all the freshwater up the canal,I would love to be able to plan a night trip around the time these creatures appear,trully one of gods gifts to us.That night two lemon sharks circled the boat,sharks ate our fish everytime,the next trip we came and caught one of the sharks.shark week anyone
