After the last unbelievable trip, I have sturgeon fever, and I need to feed that fever again soon. Where I fish for sturgeon is approximately 4 1/2 hours from SLC, so fishing for one day only is not an option that I want to consider. I have several fishing buddies who would love to go after them, but they can not take two days off during the week to go. Sometimes, I am able to take one or two days off, during the week, often on short notice, or I may take a Friday off and return late on Saturday evening. If you have an interest in fishing for sturgeon, and you are able to take two days off during the week, do not respond to this post, but please send me a Private Message. BTW - I will provide the transportation, and the boat and three people can fish simultaneously (and is even preferred because of everything that must take place if a large one is hooked) -- and I can help with tackle for one person to fish. All I ask is that you purchase your own fishing license ($14.50 for two days) and if you are financially able that you share expenses.

Man you are killing me [unsure]!!! I want to go, but leaving Friday for the elk hunt. I am putting sturgeon on my New Years "resolutions" list. Cause that is about the next time I will get the chance is next year. Plus, the job I was in the hunt for never worked out, so back to barely getting by financially!!!!

I'll find the pic of my wife's sturgeon caught in the Sacramento River a few years back. 71 1/2" long, 110 pounds on 25# test. It was the largest keeper sturgeon in the SF Bay Area that year. Sturgeon are a lot of fun and when you hit a toad there's no screwing around. My wife fought that fish for about 50 mins before we snared it and pulled it into the boat. When it hit the deck everybody jumped back. That that could clear a deck! We caught it on my brother's boat.
My brother is a sturgeon fishing fool who has caught several beasts over 7 ft. He has won several tourneys in the bay area but that was a few years ago. The slot limit in Cal is 48" to 72" to keep them. I've caught some nice sturgeon and fished several tourneys. I know how those prehistoric fish can get you. Nothing like them.
