Float Tube Club Meeting Thursday
#1
[cool][#0000ff]Reminder. TnT meeting on Thursday 4-26-12 at Willow Park Pond in Murray. See attached maps for directions.[/#0000ff]
[#0000ff][/#0000ff]
[#0000ff]Meeting to begin at 6:30 and to go no longer than about 8:30. Okay if you want to get there a bit early to set up your ride.[/#0000ff]
[#0000ff][/#0000ff]
[#0000ff]As previously agreed, this will be a meeting for you to bring your tube or toon...to show off or to get input and ideas from other members.[/#0000ff]
[#0000ff][/#0000ff]
[#0000ff]A possibility of an afternoon thunderstorm. But we will be meeting under the covered pavillion so it should be no problem. And if there is a bit of weather it will chase off the wimpy tanglers and we will have more parking.[/#0000ff]
[#0000ff][/#0000ff]
[#0000ff]At the end of the show and tell we will have a discussion of what we have seen and talk about some of the things currently being done to trick out tubes and toons...and how to best go about it.[/#0000ff]
[#0000ff][/#0000ff]
[#0000ff]We will also be discussing some options for setting up a permanent monthly meeting location. Bring your ideas.[/#0000ff]
[#0000ff][/#0000ff]
[#0000ff]See ya.[/#0000ff]

Is this another sales event for all your jigs? I really need to get some but am not up on the lingo here so I don't know.

Wow tubedude just meeting you and seeing pics of your decked out float is a true inspiration to me! It even helped me in the aspect of saving money in my life in hopes to by mid summer own one myself. Also eat healthier and be more active so I wont be limited to deluxe sizes. Thank you

[cool][#0000ff]It was a pleasure meeting you. Happy to help where I can.[/#0000ff]
[#0000ff][/#0000ff]
[#0000ff]We all find motivation for different goals...in different places. If your new goals involve float tubing and improved fitness then I would say those are worthy goals. Glad to take some of the blame.[/#0000ff]

[cool][#0000ff]Just for the record, I really am not trying to promote sales. Ain't no money in making lures for fishing buddies. If I charged what my time is worth nobody could afford them. So I work cheap and I am worth it.[/#0000ff]
[#0000ff][/#0000ff]
[#0000ff]And anyway, I am getting more picky about who I sell my stuff to. Thinking of having PETA screen all new applicants.[/#0000ff]

I wasn't trying to sound judgemental or anything... I think it's awesome how industrious you are, especially when it comes with such a passion. You obviously wouldn't be so liberal with your insight if you were only in it for the money. Smile

[cool][#0000ff]Didn't take it as being judgmental. Well, maybe just mental. I kinda get your brand of humor. I'm a bit warped my ownself.[/#0000ff]
[#0000ff][/#0000ff]
[#0000ff]No big cruSade to save the world through tackle tinkerin'. I just always like to try new things and I sometimes come up with stuff that works. Then my fishing "buddies" threaten me with vile and despicable things if I don't part with some stuff. Don't mind putting in the time to do it. And as TubeBabe tells everybody it keeps me off the street and out of trouble. But what she don't know won't hurt me...unless she finds out.[/#0000ff]

[cool][#0000ff]No rules about how soon you get there and how late you leave...and what you do with your time before or after the meeting. But, no casting allowed from the pavillion during the meeting.[/#0000ff]
[#0000ff][/#0000ff]
[#0000ff]Planning to put some more regular features into the meetings...like fishing reports, upcoming trips planned, new ideas to share, help needed questions, etc. We need to make it a group participation thing...not just some cranky old tuber holding forth until everybody nods off.[/#0000ff]
[#0000ff][/#0000ff]
[#0000ff]With you getting into the business it might be a good place to become better known. Got any of your new craft to put on display?[/#0000ff]

Is it too late to join this club? I don't fish as often as most of you but could probably benefit from the osmosis of knowledge.

[cool][#0000ff]Always open to new members. And the main idea is to have a group of folks from different levels of experience and interests who can get together and share. [/#0000ff]
[#0000ff][/#0000ff]
[#0000ff]Come on down. We will have applications at the meeting or you can go in on the float tubing board and download one to fill out.[/#0000ff]

Todd, it was good to meet you today. I wish I was able to make the meeting but my schedule is packed for the next month or so. Perhaps by late spring I will be able to join in on the festivities[Smile] it's tough working around pontoons all day and not having time to go play on one.

some of you who have been to the dmv might want to tell the others about how to obtain decals for your toons
and which location is the best for ease of getting it done

I went to the DMV in Draper with a photo of my pontoon and a bill of sale. Took about ten minutes. I painted the hull number on the side of the toons and scribed the VIN into the frame. I lightly sanded the frame and attached the stickers on the side of the frame. Very easy process.
