What a rush! I landed the biggest carp I've ever caught and it was also the first I've ever caught with a fly rod. Best of all, it was on a dry fly [shocked]. I had been hitting AF boat harbor the past few days with my spinning rod and saw tons slurping off the top. I figured I might get lucky trying a dry and it paid off. It goes to show that sometimes it's better to be lucky than good! [laugh]

Are you a Carpaholic now?

I am now a carpaholic for sure! I had been slamming them with my spinning rod lately, but there is no comparison to having one on a fly rod! I used a swisher peacock #8. I'm not great at casting so I have to wait for days without wind. Any tips on casting with wind or is it crap shoot?
