My buddy Joe fished Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. I didn't get to go with him to his hole on Friday. Him and his nephew got 17 in three days. His biggest he got in his pontoon was 7 foot. Like I said I got to go for a couple hours on Friday and got skunked. Today I hooked three but landed two that were between 4 and 5 foot. I got to break in the new Sturgeon Wagon. The new ride worked fantastic. The Skookum Steelheader is a great sturgeon wagon. Ron

Way to go ron. What do you think your hit to hookup ratio is?

EM, I don't know what the bite vs hook up ratio is but it is fairly high. I know I got three bites and hook up. The third one was very small and spit the hook when I had it almost all the way in.
We fish vertically for them. It is way different than the normal bank thing. Even the guy that are fishing with boats either anchor at the bank or the anchor on the bottom and cast away. Ron

Jim, The high water we had a while back congregated some fish. I wish I could have gotten there on Friday with him. His Nephew had never been in a pontoon and had never fished for sturgeon before and he caught many on his own. Ron

That is why I thought the X5 would be perfect. Or you can hang on and enjoy the ride. Shore landing is only way I have done it.

I don't see how the x5 would be perfectly to he honest. If you have it in zodiac mode how do you fish straight down. If you turn the seat around you have a motor to deal with. You still will have to go over the edge to release them. With bags and oars and everything else on the sides. Well the best way to find out is come up and see for your self. I would be glad to take you. Ron

I was replying to your comment about people landing them from shore. Ron, I grew up with Sturgeon. I know what to expect. I do feel it can be done with an X5 I get you don't like them. To each their own.

It is not that I don't like them. I think they are probably a good boat. Just not for what I want. I didn't want to spend 1800.00 for something I couldn't see working. Ron

Between Joe and I we have caught I think 22 sturgeon out of the pontoons. The biggest is 7 foot. I can't seem to get over the 6 foot hurdle. Ron
