Salmon Falls Res.
#1
Heading to Salmon Falls to try to find a few walleyes with the kids before school starts. I haven't been there since spring. I'll try to give a report tomorrow evening.

I haven't been able to go out there since July, so could you let us know about the algae? I'm trying to plan a trip.

I was there on Monday, algae bloom is on but you can find some water that is ok. I caught a few Walleye and a grip of smallies. Nothing huge but we had a good day anyway. Good luck to you!

Algae bloom is fairly thick but it always seems to get that way at Salmon Falls. We got there about 3:00 in the afternoon on Saturday and did some trolling right off the bat. We nailed some nice sized trout, I'm not a huge trout eater so I always release those. They are sure fun to reel in though and they can get big at Salmon Falls. We caught 3 decent walleyes trolling for about 3 hours, the biggest was 2.5 lbs and the 2 others were about 1.5 lbs. I marked a bunch of fish on the bottom and thought I'd found some perch but we ended up pulling in about 30 smallmouth bass over the next 2 hours. Nothing huge but lots of fun for my kids and wife. I caught one more small walleye while jigging for the bass but I let him go and my wife caught the smallest walleye in the lake as well[Smile] Sunday was a weird weather day and the wind blew, then it got hot, then it was still then it really blew. I didn't catch any walleyes although I did see a couple of guys jigging that reeled in a few. We nailed the trout again and had an absolute line zinger that peeled off a ton of line. I thought it was a snag at first. It came out of the water and tossed my crankbait and it was big! The one that got away![blush]
