Pineview/Deer Creek/ Utah Lake Sept. 2012
#1
I have been trolling at Pineview and it is apparent that the Muskies are still deep. Has anybody been hitting Muskies at pineview lately, and if so what are you using?

Anybody been having luck with bigger sized small mouths or walleye from Deer creek?

I've fished Pineview a few times this year and have done well for bass but the muskie have eluded me. I'll be up there Sunday after the muskies. Water temps are cooling off and the muskie should start being more active, well, they are supposed to be anyway.
Deer Creek has always had dinky smallies in it. Try using big jigs or spinnerbaits for the largemouth.

I'll be up there Sunday morning as well. I did get a "arm sized" muskie about 6 weeks ago. I was trolling with a small white flikr shad with red eyes. Fishing for bass but that's what i got. It was so fun I've had musky fever ever since.

I've had excellent luck with the bass, like you were saying. In the spring I had a 5 pounder on but he got off at the shore line. I'm planning on trolling in a little boat near the dam, at least that's close to where I got the one 6 weeks ago. I think they've just been too deep. Hopefully they come to the shallows soon. I'm bringing a deep diving fin to get my lures deep if the shallow thing doesn't work.

Good luck anyway, if you see two guys in a "way too small" emergency boat you have found me. lol (It ain't the size of the boat that matters, it's the size of the muskie)

"It ain't the size of the boat that matters, it's the size of the muskie" Amen, brother! I caught my biggest bass this year in my kickboat and my best numbers days have been in a 10' aluminum boat. (Besides lake Powell).
We'll be in a red/white/black Nitro 929 cdx, sexy boat for sure and it's definitely an eye catcher. I'll be the guy on the back throwing the big swimbaits over and over again looking for my first muskie of the year. We plan on being there at the break of dawn Sunday morning. Good luck!
