Heading FISHING. I have not been fishing for ever. Hunting since the middle of august, well camping during the hunting during hunting season since my family did not kill anything. I have decided we are ok hunters and professional campers. I told the wife that I have to go to the lake to winterize my boat in order to do it right. That is kind of true, although the angle of the drive way kind of does the same thing. Wait, never mind. I have to use a boat ramp. Heading to UL for some whitey chasing on Saturday. Hopefully I can find some fish. Last year we managed to catch a good mess of whiteys and crappies on the annual mandatory winterizing the boat trip down there. If any BFTers see my give a shout out. I will post pictures. Look for my boat with the radio blaring.
Cheers.

[cool][#0000ff]Water levels are very low...about 3' of water in most harbors...less in some. But there are still whities that come inside. The fishing is usually better later in the day, as water temps warm a bit. And some of the best places to fish are right off the ends of the boat ramps...where sunlight penetrates to warm the water.[/#0000ff]
[#0000ff][/#0000ff]
[#0000ff]At Lincoln Beach there are also some white bass in the last 10 yards of the channel going out into the lake and then for a ways to the north...in 5 to 6 feet of water.[/#0000ff]
[#0000ff][/#0000ff]
[#0000ff]The Bubbleup is very low...and the pipe is out of the water for quite a ways out into the lake. No more than about 4' deep at the end of the buoys. But there are still some fish that crowd in around the pipe in surprisingly shallow water.[/#0000ff]
[#0000ff][/#0000ff]
[#0000ff]Another possible is the old mouth of the Jordan River...the outflow channel in front of the pump gates. A bit of extra depth there to bring in the fish.[/#0000ff]
[#0000ff][/#0000ff]
[#0000ff]Good luck. I may try a prospecting trip on Thursday or Friday and I'll post a report.[/#0000ff]

Why ruin a good fishing/winterization trip with a blaring radio?
Good luck anyways.

TD if you would like to jump in my Boat I will make room. you can sit in my front bow seat and i will stand up there. I am guessing that 2 more buddies and 2 kids will be in the back of the boat. I plan to launch at AF, closest to Riverton for the east side of the lake. I will check AF Harbor then Lindon then the pipe then the shit ditch then the turd pond river then rip over to saratoga and maybe el nautica then the pumps. I am guessing we will find them. my buddy filled 2 small buckets last night. call me if you want to know where. let me know if you want to go along on Saturday from 1130 ish until 4 ish.

We are gearing up for more improvements to SSprings marina hopefully in the next week.
While down there taking measurements last night I watched 5 guys catch at least 12 whiteys from the docks in probably less than 6 or 7 minutes.
Small fish but big fun.

There are few things in this life that I find more obnoxious or annoying than trying to fish and enjoy myself, but can't because some buffoon has his boat radio blasting. Never mind that he's on the other side of the lake, and that his boat is the size of an ant, I have the honor of listening to their favorite tunes rolling across the water. My personal favorites? Country crap, pop's top 40 (which happen to all be the same song/beat, just a different computer singing voice) and my personal favorite Gangsta Rap; with more F words in one song than I utter in an entire fishing trip, it is sure to leave the mind and soul in a great state of ease,
If I can hear it crystal clear from the other side of the lake, surely you can hear it in your boat. Instead of blasting it for everyone to enjoy, why not turn it down a bit so you don't mess up everyone else's trip?
Ya, I'm a boob. I'll live.

[cool][#0000ff]SAY WHAT? I fish early mornings, on week days and all by myself in a float tube...just to get away from all that stuff. Not that I am antisocial. I just prefer peace and quiet while I am fishing. I put in my time with the family trips and the party runs. Now I prefer to enjoy only the sound of one hand clapping...or the swish of a rod moving overhead.[/#0000ff]

[#0000ff]Do appreciate the invite. Hope you guys have a great time and score some fishies too.[/#0000ff]

[#0000ff]I think I have a couple of spots pegged for my trip this week...if I can get away.[/#0000ff]

Saratoga Springs City.
We will be placing rip rap along the west shoreline of our marina to help stop the erosion of the area of the turf and pavilions.

Dude, you're too kind.

I can't guarantee that I'll use them to whisk away tears, but I've got a free three month subscription to a bunch of movie channels -- so I'm sure they'll get plenty of run.
I wasn't dogging you, sir, even though it totally looks like I was. Enjoy the fishing and the beer, and even the ridiculous music. Please don't crash.

+1 for not wanting loud music while fishing.

Nice, that's pretty much hilarious. This has become one of the better threads I've seen on here in a while. I agree with you. I stop fishing a lot of the better lakes in my area once the summer crowds show up because I don't feel like listening to their buttrock, country (not much more than top 40 with a twang these days) or their autotuned, overly produced, cookie cutter pop music. People who blast their boat stereo are right up there with people who bring their stereo camping and crank it for the whole world to hear.

I always kept some KISS, or Alice Cooper handy to drive off the folks who thought it was okay to fish right next to me. Nothin' like explicit lyrics to get yourself some privacy.[crazy]

See now, you would be in trouble if it was me. I am old school Rock and Roll. Throw in some Zepplin and some AC/DC and I would be velcro to you all day...[ ]
