I know of no Web site on the InterWeb that is as SSSLLLOOOOOWWWWWWW as this one!
It has been a while since I have posted much lately and coming back to BFT and trying to contribute ain't near as fun as it use to be.
I sure wish it were faster.

Kent made a post on the main mod board about the same thing, so it will be interesting to find out if others are having the same problem. I can't see a difference myself. Could it be your internet connection? Mine is Comcast.

My service provider is Digis. But all other Internet Web sites load up quite satisfactorily. BFT is the only one I can think of that is this slow. Man, I wouldn't DARE to click on a post with more than 12 replies! Let alone one like the 9-5 post with over a hundred.

[cool][#0000ff]I have Comcast...soon changing to Centurylink. BFT has always been a pain...much slower to change screens, to reply to posts, to edit, etc. I spend a lot of time on the Internet and there are no other websites I have ever encountered that are as slow.[/#0000ff]
[#0000ff][/#0000ff]
[#0000ff]Also, I sometimes get BFT failing to close out when I click on the red X. Instead, I get a series of new windows popping up...all BFT...and have to either do a hard shutdown or at least the Ctrl/Alt/Delete to get the task manager to shut BFT down. Again, never had that happen with any other website but have it happen at least a couple of times a week with BFT.[/#0000ff]
[#0000ff][/#0000ff]
[#0000ff]Way too much clutter (ads) on all the pages. It takes a long time to load and then to shut down. I have a quality high speed computer but BFT makes it choke.[/#0000ff]

I'm likely wrong but I think it is mainly a connection speed issue. It depends on the area you live but my comcast connection speed is 25, with Centurylink the connection speed in my area is only 1.5
Does BFT run faster for you early in the morning and slower in the afternoon or evening?

For me it doesn't matter what time of day that it is. I get home from work at 3 A.M. and it take the same time then as it does when I am home in the afternoon or evening. It will freeze up the screen until all of the ads are loaded before it will let you start to scroll.
I can go to another web page and have it load like it always does after leaving BFT so I dought that it is a connection speed problem.

Who is your internet provider?
Do you know what your connection speed is?

[cool][#0000ff]Not affected by time of day. But it does get slower the longer I am on the site. Sometimes I just bail out before I want to just because it is so frustrating to navigate on BFT.[/#0000ff]
[#0000ff][/#0000ff]
[#0000ff]Again, I do a lot of internet research...on many websites. Blinding speed on most. Just not BFT. Maybe I have been here too long already.[/#0000ff]

I hope we get more input by other members on this issue because if most members are having this problem, it will start driving members away. I'm going to move this thread to the main board so more members will see it and respond.
All members please respond, even if you are not having any problem with the site, thanks.

Check what speeds are available with CenturyLink before you switch! In SLC, I get close to 20 Mbps with CenturyLink. In West Valley, I rarely get above 1 Mbps and it is HORRIBLE! I hate comcast, but I sure wish they offered it in more of the industrial areas of West Valley.

Its been slow for me as well. It seems like it is all the ads that are running. Would be great if this forum would work on tapatalk for the phone.

It usually loads fast for me, but sometimes it will freeze when loading. To fix that, I hit the stop loading button, and then refresh the page, and most of the time it will load properly after that.

SO sick of these ads.
If you're using google Chrome or firefox, they both have ad blocking programs you can use. I just installed one for google Chrome and it is awesome. Can already tell a noticeable difference when loading pages on BFT.

Using Comcast, also.
But I run Firefox with AdBlock Plus (both are 100% free). Page load in well under one second, no ads whatever.
I'd wager that anyone having problems is using Internet Exploder.

Running an ad blocker helps quite a bit but it still is not great speed i think its got to do with all of bfts features like the featured fishing vid fishing comics fish fact of day all must be loaded everytime you switch pages. But very big imporvemnt in speed by running ad blocker.

Recently had my computer repaired and had to install Firefox again. I just reinstalled AdBlock Plus and it has made a huge difference. Thanks for the reminder.
