One of the best sites for snow and temp conditions for the back country.

No it just gives Precipitation, snow depth, snow water equivalent, temperature, and soil moisture/temperature. From there you’ll have to make an educated guess at what is going on up there. I’d start with Bear River RS and Lily Lake. Those are going to be the closest weather sensors to Whitney.

The temperature for the last seven days on average has only been in the mid to upper twenties with only 12” of snow. Good luck my friend.

I went snowmobiling up there the day after Thanksgiving and the lake was frozen then. I'm sure it is plenty safe by now. The next few days here in Evanston are calling for -16 for lows with the wind chill.

Down low there wasn't much, just enough to get by. Once you gained some elevation there was plenty though, probably about 3' at the time. We have been getting pounded with snow the last few days though, I would bet the high mountains have got at least another couple of feet. Should be just fine with the snow and ice.

We snowmobiled in last Saturday there was maybe 2 to 3 feet of snow at the lake. Ice was 4 to 6 inches of good ice and maybe a foot of slush. We fished it though and caught a lot fish 10 inch tiger trout. 12 to 15 in rainbows. it was a perfect day for kids to go. Watch for big rocks going in and out. We hit a few both ways.
